Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) is the first committee of the United Nations General Assembly which deals with disarmament and global challenges that can trouble the international community. Since the General Assembly is one of the six main organs of the United Nations and has the membership from the each UN member states, DISEC is able to discuss the wide variety of world issues. Disarmament committee works in collaboration with the United Nations Disarmament Commission and the Geneva-based Conference on Disarmament in order to create and maintain sustainable peace among the member states. DISEC submits various documents and reports that focus on the establishment of disarmament and promotion of the global security. During the sessions, delegates will be tackling the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians in West Africa and debating upon the international regulation of lethal autonomous weapons systems.
